A specialist in technology companies, Jason has also worked with: TouchTech Corporation (acquired by Move Inc.), The .TV Corporation (acquired by Verisign Inc.), Dealer.com Inc. (acquired by Dealertrack Inc.), and Dealertrack Inc. (acquired by Cox Automotive Inc.).

James Merkur, President

James is our corporate finance and M&A expert with deep experience in assisting growth companies to go public on the TSX or NASDAQ. With a long career in investment banking, James advises companies on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures in a wide range of industries across North America. He is also our finance guru, helping entrepreneurs and boards build solid financial strategies for future growth.

James is currently on the boards of: Docebo (NASDAQ / TSX : DCBO), E Inc. (TSX: EINC), Sharestates, Plex, Guestlogix (Post Bankruptcy) and Viafoura.

His previous board positions include: NYX Gaming (acquired by Scientific Games), Canaccord Genuity Acquisition Corp. (acquired by Spark Power), Canaccord Genuity Growth (acquired by Columbia Care), Canaccord Genuity Growth II Corp (acquired by Taiga Motors).

Josh Brandley, President, International

Josh is a tactical leader focused on early-stage ventures that align with our strategic priorities. He currently leads the company's investments in Top Level Domains and web3 technologies.

Prior to Intercap, Josh was a consultant at McKinsey and Company, where he refined his analytical and problem-solving skills while working with clients in a variety of industries. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.

Adam Sadowski, Director of Operations

Adam keeps our team and our investments operating smoothly. With over 20 years of operational experience in startup, technology, and web environments, Adam has specific expertise in project management, HR, technology and systems management as well as finance and banking. His valuable first-hand experience at growth companies includes Reset Beauty, StickerYou, Viafoura, and Kaboom Fireworks.

Randi Myers, Director of Impact

Randi is a communications professional who specializes in aligning content strategy and executing corporate vision. Many of her articles appear in national publications, including The Globe and Mail, The Lawyers Weekly, and MoneySense. A lawyer and mediator with a master’s degree in alternative dispute resolution, she is also co-founder of Path Hacks, a web-based coaching service for students. At Intercap, Randi is responsible for the organizational and administrative management of the MyCity technology initiatives.

Jake Barkin, Investment Analyst

Jake is our in-house investment analyst providing high caliber financial modelling, industry research and valuation, and business intelligence to our investments. Jake also leads our effort to originate and initially screen new investment opportunities. An economics graduate, Jake has valuable experience working at a leading health benefit solutions provider and as a business analyst at a major Canadian retailer.

Zoe Varga, Marketing Manager

Zoe brings her fresh marketing and content expertise in lifestyle, health and exercise brands to our firm. She is primarily focused on developing strategy, creating content and providing graphic design to Intercap’s registry business as well as MyCity Initiatives.

Jodi Chapnik, Director of Philanthropy

Jodi is an artist, community volunteer, board member and philanthropist with bachelor degrees in Education from the University of Toronto and Visual Arts from the University of Western Ontario. At Intercap, Jodi spearheads the selection of corporate charitable initiatives and establishes and manages partnerships with non-profit organizations.
